Gryffindor is one of the four Houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry[1]. Students in this House are noted for their bravery, loyalty, daring, nerve, chivalry and courage. It was founded by Godric Gryffindor, after whom the House is named[2]. The house ghost is Sir Nicholas de-Mimsy Porpington, known better as Nearly Headless Nick[1]. The house colours are scarlet and gold, and the emblem is the lion[1].
